To ensure that Sobeys' emissions reduction targets are given proper attention, our operating regions each have a dedicated employee responsible for identifying, evaluating and facilitating the adoption of equipment, materials and/or processes aimed at reducing the regional retail operations' environmental impacts, CO2e emissions and related costs.
Some areas of the Company are more advanced with their CO2e reduction efforts and have a greater degree of expertise and experience with sustainable building design and operations. The knowledge and insight gained by these "groundbreakers" and subject matter experts are shared company-wide to ensure that proven environmental impact reduction initiatives could be implemented across the organization.
