Our quest to reduce our environmental footprint begins by identifying the ways employees' behaviours could more consistently adhere to standards and policies. These changes are the lowest cost and fastest to implement. Employee-driven initiatives are making a difference every day, with many employees across the organization helping Sobeys to reduce our environmental impact by implementing measures that target waste diversion, energy reduction and the implementation of other positive or low environmental impact initiatives.
Whether large or small, their individual and collective efforts are making a difference in every area of the organization. The results achieved in Sobeys Atlantic and Thrifty Foods in British Columbia are only two examples of what is being achieved by our employees.
